Frequently Asked Questions

Issues when binding SLS Logstore Index

When binding an SLS Logstore index, how can I confirm successful authorization in the Alibaba Cloud Marketplace?

On the authorization request page, you can click to go to the RAM Console.

In Roles, you can view the roles that have been authorized. In Authorizations, you can view the authorized principals and permission policies.

When binding an SLS Logstore index, why can't Project and Logstore be automatically retrieved after entering the Alibaba Cloud account ID?

Project and Logstore will be automatically retrieved only if your Alibaba Cloud account has activated the SLS Log Service and completed the authorization.

Note

Projects prefixed with /guance-wksp- will be automatically filtered out and not listed. If your Project does not contain any Logstores, it will not be automatically retrieved.

How to cancel authorization

After Workspace 1's index is authorized to Workspace 2, how do I cancel the authorization if needed?

Revoking index authorization is divided into the following two scenarios:

1. Authorization scope includes only log data

If only logs were authorized, you can directly click Delete in the authorization list to revoke all index item authorizations for "Workspace 2".

2. Authorization scope includes other data types

If the authorization scope includes data types other than logs, you can click Edit and remove the log items from the authorization scope.

Note
  • After logs are removed from the data scope, the log index input field will also be closed synchronously.

  • Deleting the index is equivalent to revoking the authorization for log data. This means all log data from "Workspace 1" will no longer be accessible to "Workspace 2", and "Workspace 2" will not be able to select "Workspace 1" in the log explorer's workspace selector.

Unable to query the index

The authorized index operation is normal, but this index cannot be queried in the log explorer of the authorized workspace.

  1. Go to Authorized Workspace > Logs > Indexes and confirm whether the status of this index is normal and if it has been deleted.

  2. Go to the authorized workspace, click Manage > Cross-workspace Authorization, and check if the index authorization is normal.

Note

Deleted indexes cannot be referenced in cross-workspace queries.

How to query external log indexes from other workspaces?

It is important to clarify that external indexes are bound to the Guance platform from external channels (SLS Logstore, Elasticsearch, OpenSearch).

Therefore, to use a specific external index, simply bind that external index to your current workspace. When using it, select the default current workspace in the log explorer and choose the corresponding external index for querying.
