Free Plan¶
Differences Between Free Plan and Commercial Plan¶
The public cloud offers both a free plan and a commercial plan, both of which use a pay-as-you-go billing method.
The free plan has limitations on the scale of data that can be accessed. After upgrading to the commercial plan, you can access larger volumes of data and customize data retention periods more flexibly.
Important Notes for Free Plan
- The free plan is non-billable if not upgraded; once upgraded to the commercial plan, it cannot be rolled back;
- If you upgrade to the commercial plan, collected data will continue to be reported to your Guance workspace, but data collected during the free plan period will no longer be accessible;
- Upgrading to the commercial plan can only be viewed and operated by the current workspace owner;
- Backup logs count as full data volume, while other billable items are counted as incremental data. Incremental data resets daily at 00:00, and the quota is valid only for that day;
- If any billable item in the free plan reaches its data limit, data reporting will stop. However, infrastructure and event data types remain reportable, so you can still view infrastructure lists and event data;
- Due to data content security concerns, snapshot sharing is not supported in free plan workspaces.

Activating the Free Plan¶
On the Guance official website, click Start for Free and fill in the required information to become a Guance user.
Step 1: Basic Information¶
- Select your region;
- Define your username and login password;
- Enter your email address and input the verification code sent to you;
- Input your mobile number;
- Click Next.
Step 2: Company Information¶
- Enter your company name;
- Review and agree to relevant agreements;
- Click More Info to optionally provide additional company details;
- Click Register.
Note: Completion of this step means you have successfully registered a Guance account. The next step will guide you through activating a workspace under this account.
Step 3: Activate Free Plan Workspace¶

Click the toggle in the top-right corner of the current page to navigate to the Activate Free Plan Workspace page;

Enter a workspace name;
- Select the workspace language;
- It is recommended to check the agreement and create a billing center account simultaneously;
- Click Register to complete activation.
Checking Free Plan Quotas¶
Owners and administrators of Guance workspaces can check daily quotas and usage statistics for each billable item under the Billing & Plans section.
Upgrade to Commercial Plan¶
Upgrade notes:
- Once successfully upgraded from the free plan to the commercial plan, you cannot revert back;
- Collected data will continue to be reported to your Guance workspace, but data collected during the free plan period will no longer be accessible.
Prerequisites¶
- You must already have a Guance Console account and an existing free plan workspace;
- You must also create a Guance Billing Center account simultaneously for future billing purposes.
What is a Billing Center Account?
The Billing Center is Guance's payment and settlement platform. Only accounts registered here can perform operations such as balance recharge, payment settlements, and bill management.
Start the Upgrade¶
In the workspace navigation bar, click Upgrade Now:
Alternatively, go directly to Billing & Plans and click Upgrade Now.
If you are the current workspace Owner, clicking the button will take you directly to the upgrade page:
Other members need to contact the workspace Owner to proceed with the upgrade. If you already have a Guance billing center account, you can directly bind the workspace within the billing center to complete the version upgrade.
- Go to the Plan Upgrade page;
- Click Upgrade;
- Proceed to bind your Guance billing center account.
Binding the Billing Center Account¶
If you selected the option to create a billing center account during free plan activation, the system will have created one with the same name as your current account.
- Enter the username;
- Enter the associated email address;
- Retrieve the verification code;
- Click Bind.
If you did not select the option earlier, you will need to register a billing center account first.
Fill in basic and company information to complete registration.
View Current Plan Version¶
Return to the Guance Billing & Plans, where you can see that the current workspace has been upgraded to the Commercial Plan.
Click Billing Center in the top-right corner to automatically redirect to the Guance billing center.
