How is traffic billed in the workspace?

When calling various services within a workspace, corresponding traffic data will be generated. This billing involves two processes:

Counting the scale of data generated by the workspace.
Generating detailed bills based on actual traffic.

Traffic data is generated within the workspace and is stored separately per workspace and synchronized to the billing center for generating bills.

Therefore: these two processes are independently conducted in the workspace and billing center respectively, with cost synchronization achieved through associating the billing center account ID.

Two Essential Accounts for Billing Settlement

Guance Console Account: bound with the workspace, used to count the data access scale and bill details under this account; can be synchronized to a specified billing center account.

Guance Billing Center Account: can be bound with one or multiple workspaces to achieve unified cost management.

Note: A single workspace can be billed individually, or multiple workspaces can be bound together for joint billing.

Why Are Two Accounts Required?

The settlement process mainly includes two aspects. On one hand, creating a workspace under the Guance console account and storing and counting data traffic within that workspace. On the other hand, binding the billing center account with the workspace to obtain corresponding bill data, finally settling according to the method selected by the user.

What Billing Methods Does Guance Support?

Access the Billing Center directly and use the billing center account for payment. You only need to recharge or purchase prepaid cards within the billing center account to complete bill payments.

Cloud vendor account billing is supported, currently including Huawei Cloud, Alibaba Cloud, Amazon, and Microsoft Azure.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between activating Guance service via the official website and cloud vendors?

Both channels can activate Guance service normally; the main difference lies in the optional nature of the billing methods after activation.

  • When activating via the Guance official website, you can choose either the Guance billing center or a cloud vendor account for billing.
  • When activating through a specific cloud vendor, you can only use that cloud vendor account for billing.

Therefore, if you already have a preferred billing method, you can select the activation channel according to your chosen billing method.

How do I bind the billing center account with the workspace?

  • If you're a new registrant, during the registration process on the Guance official website, you'll simultaneously create a Guance console account, billing center account, and workspace, with the workspace automatically bound to the accounts.

  • If you're paying through a cloud vendor channel, after successfully ordering the Guance service from the cloud vendor, there will be a process to bind workspaces, allowing you to select available workspaces as needed.

Why are two accounts required?

Workspaces are created under the console account, while billing for workspaces can combine multiple workspaces for consolidated billing. Since these two processes occur separately, two distinct accounts are necessary for management.

How can I check whether I have a Guance console account and billing center account?

The Guance console account is used for logging into the official website: https://guance.com. The unique credential for the account is the email address.

You can view the billing center account in Guance Workspace > Billing and Plans. If a billing center account exists, the billing account will display normally; alternatively, you can directly log in to the billing center platform: https://boss.guance.com. The unique credential for the billing center account is the username.
