Third-party Message Channels

Third-party message channels (Channels) are used to connect the current Agent to external messaging platforms. Once connected, the Agent can receive and reply to messages within platforms like WeChat, DingTalk, Lark, and others.

Use Cases

Third-party message channels are suitable for the following collaboration methods:

  • Teams want to ask the Agent directly in existing group chats.
  • The Agent needs to participate in IM collaboration for alerting, troubleshooting, or on-call scenarios.
  • Users do not want to enter the console every time and prefer to initiate tasks within the messaging platform.
  • Teams need the Agent to accumulate collaboration processes within fixed communication channels.

Adding a Message Channel

Enter the workspace of a specific Agent, open Channel, and follow these steps to connect:

  • Click Add Channel or Add Message Channel.
  • Select the platform to connect to, such as WeChat, DingTalk, or Lark.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to fill in credentials or use scan code login.
  • After authorization is complete, the message channel will appear in the connected list.
  • Click Start to allow the Agent to begin sending and receiving messages through this message channel.

Credentials and Scan Code Login

Different platforms may support different connection methods:

  • Credential Connection: Suitable for scenarios where administrators prepare application information, keys, or platform credentials.
  • Scan Code Login: Suitable for scenarios requiring confirmation via client-side QR code scanning.

When filling in credentials, please ensure the source is trustworthy and avoid sharing keys in group chats, emails, or unauthorized documents.

Managing Connected Message Channels

In the connected list, you can view:

  • Platform.
  • Account.
  • Connection method.
  • Running status.
  • Available operations.

Common operations include:

  • Start: Allow the Agent to begin working through this message channel.
  • Stop: Temporarily disable message sending and receiving for this message channel.
  • Retry: Reattempt to start when the message channel is abnormal.
  • View Logs: Check the cause of the abnormality or troubleshooting clues.
  • Delete: Remove the connection between this Agent and the message channel.
Note

If the same message channel account is already connected to another Agent, the page will display the impact scope. Please confirm carefully to avoid invalidating the original Agent's connection.

Usage Recommendations

  • Connect message channels to group chats or accounts that match the Agent's responsibilities.
  • For message channels involving production, customers, security, or similar content, restrict the range of Agents and members who can use them.
  • Do not send keys, tokens, installation commands, or other sensitive credentials in group chats.
  • When a message channel is abnormal, first check the running status and logs before deciding whether to retry or reauthorize.
