Skills

Skills can be understood as an Agent's "working methods" or "professional capabilities". They typically do not directly represent an external system, but rather instruct the Agent on the process, standards, and output format to follow when handling a certain type of task.

Common skills include:

  • Code review.
  • Test generation.
  • Documentation organization.
  • Browser automation.
  • Data analysis.
  • Deployment checks.

When you want an Agent to work according to a fixed method for a task, or to possess a specific professional processing capability, you can enable the corresponding skill for it.

Configuration Logic

Obsy Agent Teams manage skills using a "configure globally first, then enable per Agent" approach:

  • Global Configuration: Administrators first prepare the skills available to the team in the Settings Center.
  • Agent Enablement: Enter a specific Agent's workspace and enable only the skills needed for that particular Agent.

This approach prevents all Agents from having all capabilities by default. Different Agents can enable different skills based on their responsibilities. For example, a development review Agent can enable code review-related skills, while a testing Agent can enable test generation-related skills.

Usage Recommendations

Before configuring a skill, it is recommended to confirm:

  • Whether the current Agent truly needs this skill.
  • Whether this skill will change the Agent's workflow or output format.
  • Whether team members are clear about when it should be used.
  • Whether it is necessary to specify the usage method in the Agent's identity definition or behavioral boundaries.
